Facts
The City of Sumiton is located in Eastern Walker County
and has a population of just of 2600 people according to the
last Census. Sumiton is the home of Bevill State Community College
and the Sumition Christian Eagles which is a private Christian
school.
In 2002 the city celebrated its 50 Anniversary with parties and
a free city concert. The Frog Festival which began in 2006 was
a huge success and the decision was made to make the festival
an annual event.
